The KronosRemote enables users to control the renowned Korg Kronos workstation from their iPad, enhancing the performance capabilities of the Kronos. The focus is on enhancing live performances by providing easy access to common pages and parameters, especially when the Kronos screen is not accessible. In studio settings, it supports programming workflows by acting as a secondary screen with direct access to crucial pages such as the combi mixer while editing other pages on the Kronos screen.

Wireless connectivity via Bluetooth facilitates program changes and real-time controllers, offering a convenient way to manage live setups on stage. A USB cable connection fully supports SysEx communication and allows synchronization of all preset parameters for efficient programming in studio environments.

It is essential to note that the KronosRemote serves as a complementary tool to the Kronos screen; technical constraints limit access to certain pages exclusively on the Kronos screen and not through the app.

SETLIST:

A setlist view similar to the Kronos setlist screen streamlines transitions between program, combi, and song presets. The app can adjust modes on the Kronos, displaying pages like the combi mixer while still allowing access to the current setlist on the iPad.

Users can link .pdf or .mp3 files to setlist slots, with .pdf files replacing the comment field and .mp3 files activating a mini-player within the setlist screen. The intuitive interface permits easy editing of slots and setlists, including drag-and-drop functionalities, text input via an onscreen keyboard, and copying/pasting chords or lyrics to comments. Offline editing is supported, allowing users to prepare setlists backstage, make changes, and then sync all modifications with the Kronos later.

COMBINATION:

The iPad allows display and usage of the mixer page and other common editing pages. This mode enables simultaneous viewing of two editing pages for enhanced functionality; for instance, adjusting EQ settings on the Kronos screen while editing mixer settings on the iPad. After editing, users can utilize the iPad keyboard to name and save their Combination.

PROGRAM:

In Program mode, users can switch presets and access real-time controller surfaces similar to other modes. Additionally, renaming programs using the iPad keyboard is supported.

SEQUENCER:

In Sequencer mode, mixer and EQ pages for MIDI and Audio are accessible. Users can use the iPad to conveniently control the mixer while working on tracks or effects.

• USB connection necessitates either the iPad camera kit or USB-lightning adapter
• Bluetooth connection requires an additional Bluetooth MIDI dongle on the Kronos side
• Bluetooth functionality is limited to devices supporting Bluetooth LE specification, typically newer than (but not including) iPad 2 models
• The app is compatible with iPad 2 or earlier versions but may experience delays during syncing processes. Program changes and real-time controllers operate effectively despite potential slowdowns
